Toyota Raises FY 2025 Net Profit Forecast to 2.93 T. Yen

Tokyo, Nov. 5 (Jiji Press)–Toyota Motor Corp. said Wednesday that it has revised up its consolidated net profit forecast for fiscal 2025 to 2.93 trillion yen from 2.66 trillion yen, on the back of robust hybrid vehicle sales in North America. For the year ending in March 2026, the leading Japanese automaker upgraded its group operating profit projection to 3.4 trillion yen from 3.2 trillion yen and the sales forecast to 49 trillion yen from 48.5 trillion yen. Toyota raised its group automobile sales forecast worldwide, including those at subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Co. and Hino Motors Ltd., this fiscal year to 11.3 million units from 11.2 million units. The company also said that U.S. tariffs are expected to have an effect of reducing the group’s fiscal 2025 operating profit by 1.45 trillion yen. For the April-September first half, Toyota reported record-high consolidated sales of 24,630.7 billion yen, up 5.8 pct from a year earlier. Meanwhile, net profit fell 7.0 pct to 1,773.4 billion yen, and operating profit went down 18.6 pct to 2,005.6 billion yen. END [Copyright The Jiji Press, Ltd.]
