(Adnkronos) – Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro stated that the Venezuelan authorities and people will respond “with works, facts, and results” to the “psychological warfare” of the United States, meaning the administration of Donald Trump and those he called “media scoundrels” in Miami.
“Facts, results, and actions, instead of rumors, lies, campaigns, and absurdities,” Maduro declared during a televised speech in which he again defended his administration amid growing political tensions with Washington, which has intensified its military operations near Venezuela.
“How do you say ‘imbecile’ in English?” the Venezuelan leader then burst out, warning those “who want to do harm” that they “have not been able, and will never be able,” to defeat Venezuela. Venezuelan security forces have seized 63 tons of drugs this year, the Venezuelan leader then pointed out, hinting at a supposed “coincidence”: while the United States “was moving some planes into the Caribbean,” he said, two other aircraft linked to drug trafficking attempted to enter Venezuelan territory. “Our air defense system intercepted them, applied the law, applied all protocols in accordance with the law, in accordance with the Constitution, in accordance with international law,” he stressed.
