(Adnkronos) – Tens of thousands of civilians have fled cities and villages in Sudan after fighting intensified in a vast region east of Darfur, where the city of El-Fasher was captured by paramilitary forces just over a week ago. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) raised the alarm.
In a statement released last night, the Organization said that 36,825 people have fled five locations in North Kordofan, a state located a few hundred kilometers east of Darfur, where paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) captured the army’s last major stronghold.
