PM Takaichi Holds Talks with Taiwan’s APEC Rep.

Gyeongju, South Korea, Nov. 1 (Jiji Press)–Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi held talks in South Korea on Saturday with Lin Hsin-i, Taiwan’s former vice premier, who attended an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum meeting as a Taiwanese representative. During the talks, Takaichi said Taiwan is an important partner and friend, expressing her willingness to promote exchanges. Lin voiced hope for further strengthening of Japan-Taiwan relations. Takaichi held her first meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday on the sidelines of the APEC summit. The two leaders agreed to promote a mutually beneficial strategic relationship between their countries. Takaichi also emphasized the importance of favorable relations between China and Taiwan.
