Tanzania, opposition, ‘700 dead in electoral violence’

(Adnkronos) – Electoral violence in Tanzania has caused “about 700 deaths” since Wednesday. The figure was given by the opposition party Chadema, whose members toured the country’s hospitals. “As we speak – opposition party leader John Kitoka told AFP – the death toll in Dar es Salaam is about 350 and over 200 in Mwanza. If you add the victims in other parts of the country, it reaches about 700 deaths.”
