(Adnkronos) – ”The ceasefire is holding” between Pakistan and Afghanistan, thanks to the ”guarantees” provided by Kabul, but Islamabad is ”ready to respond to any violation”. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, Tahir Andrabi, during a press conference. “We have taken note of the guarantees provided by the Afghan side regarding the ceasefire,” Andrabi added.
Yesterday, Turkey announced that a new round of peace talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan will be held in Istanbul next week, on November 6, following the resumption of the bloodiest clashes between the two countries since the Taliban returned to power in Kabul in 2021.
