Africa: Mission to Mauritania, Senegal, Niger has strengthened Italy’s role – govt

(Adnkronos) – A three-day visit this week by foreign minister Antonio Tajani and interior minister Matteo Piantedosi to Mauritania, Senegal and Niger has fortified Italy’s role in Africa and in stabilising the Sahel region, the foreign ministry wrote Friday on X.  

“The mission in Mauritania, Senegal and Niger has served to strengthen Italy’s role in Africa. Italy is leading the way to ensure regional stability, combat illegal immigration and terrorism,” read the post.
