Tokyo, Oct. 29 (Jiji Press)–Nissan Motor Co. will steadily introduce new models and offer existing powertrains to meet diverse customer needs on the globe while accelerating the development of automated driving technology, Nissan President and CEO Ivan Espinosa said Wednesday. The struggling Japanese automaker’s redefined business strategy “centers on three pillars: core, heartbeat and partnerships,” Espinosa said during a press briefing at the Tokyo Big Sight convention center ahead of the official kickoff of the Japan Mobility Show on Thursday. “Core models deliver reliable, accessible mobility tailored to market needs, heartbeat models ignite emotion and showcase Nissan’s bold design and engineering spirit, and strategic partnerships expand our reach with regionally optimized offerings across all pillars,” he explained. The automaker is also applying its battery electric, e-POWER hybrid and internal combustion powertrains depending on regional needs, he added. Nissan plans to launch in fiscal 2027 the new Patrol SUV, a Level 4 autonomous mobility service and the next-generation Propilot driver-assistance system. END [Copyright The Jiji Press, Ltd.]
