(Adnkronos) – The American Senate will vote today for the 13th time on the bill to fund the government and end the 28-day shutdown. The procedural vote will take place at 11:30 AM, 4:30 PM in Italy, and Republicans need the votes of 5 more Democrats to reach the qualified majority of 60 votes. Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance is expected at Capitol Hill today, where he will meet Republican senators for lunch.
The vote comes after federal employees furloughed at the end of last week lost their first full paycheck, while unions said yesterday that “it is long past time to pass a bridge measure to end the shutdown.”
