Washington, Oct. 24 (Jiji Press)–U.S. President Donald Trump said Friday that he expects to establish a good relationship with new Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, who took office Tuesday. “We’re going to have a fantastic relationship with her,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One for his trip to Asia. The U.S. president will visit Malaysia, Japan and South Korea. In Japan, he will hold talks with Takaichi on Tuesday. “I hear great things about her,” Trump said of Takaichi, noting that she was close to the late former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, with whom he developed a friendship. “I look forward to meeting her.” END [Copyright The Jiji Press, Ltd.]
