Serbia, shooting in front of Parliament, for Vucic it’s a ‘terrorist act’

22 Ottobre 2025

(Adnkronos) – Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke of a ”terrorist act” referring to what happened in front of the Parliament in Belgrade, where a 70-year-old man shot wildly, seriously injuring a 57-year-old passerby, now hospitalized. The assailant, who was later arrested by the police, set fire to a stand of Vucic’s supporters after shooting.

“The vile and cowardly act involved a citizen who had worked for 16 years in state security” and who had been fired in the 90s, Vucic explained, speaking of the assailant. ”The use of firearms and the political motive represent an act of terrorism,” the Serbian president added.

The assailant, immobilized by officers, said he ”shot because I wanted you to shoot me” and because ”it bothers me that there were those tents” of Vucic’s supporters in the city center.
