(Adnkronos) – Paul Ingrassia, chosen by Donald Trump to lead the Office of Special Counsel, announces his step down. He does so before his Senate confirmation hearing, following revelations by Politico, according to which in a chat with other Republicans he claimed to have “a Nazi streak.” On Truth, the 30-year-old lawyer nominated by the tycoon for the position announced his decision, stating that he “currently does not have enough Republican votes.”
“I appreciate the enormous support I have received,” he added, stating that he will continue “to serve President Trump and this Administration” in the name of the slogan “Make America Great Again!”.
The announcement came after Senate Republican Majority Leader John Thune told reporters that the White House should consider withdrawing Ingrassia’s nomination.
