(Adnkronos) – The tension between Donald Trump and Gustavo Petro’s Colombia continues to rise, with the American president having called him a “drug trafficking leader”. Shortly after announcing the recall of the ambassador to Washington for consultations, the Colombian Interior Ministry denounces what it calls a “threat of invasion” by the United States.
Interviewed by Blu Radio, Minister Armando Benedetti equated Trump’s words to “a threat of invasion or military action against Colombia” and said they could be a reaction to the stance of President Gustavo Petro, who spoke of “national sovereignty and dignity” and “interference of troops in the Caribbean”.
