(Adnkronos) – Italy is “strongly committed” to helping refugees return home the embassy wrote Monday, thanking the United Nations refugee agency in Afghanistan for its work to which the government has contributed two million euros of funds.
“Italy is strongly committed to supporting returnees to #Afghanistan. Thanks @UNHCRAfg for your activities on the ground,” read the embassy’s post on X.
“UNHCR is grateful to Italy for its generous €2M support for returnees and vulnerable members of host communities in Afghanistan,” UNHCR Afghanistan wrote earlier on X.
“This vital reintegration support will help reach 20,000+ people, over half of them women and girls,” the post continued.
