(Adnkronos) – The violence that erupted yesterday during a demonstration in the capital of Peru caused at least 55 injuries among law enforcement and 20 among civilians. This was reported by President Jose Jeri, who took office less than a week ago.
“Update: 55 police officers injured” and “20 civilians injured,” Jeri declared on X, as thousands of people gathered near the Congress in Lima to protest against the political class and corruption in the South American country, a few days after the impeachment of former president Dina Boluarte.
