(Adnkronos) – Italy has hailed the role played by United States in the Gaza ceasefire-hostage accord inked in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt, on 9 October, following a plan unveiled by US President Donald Trump “which has decisively launched bold prospects for peace in the Mediterranean”.
“The agreements signed in Sharm el Sheikh between Israel and Hamas, thanks to the fundamental role of the #USA, have decisively launched bold prospects for peace in the Mediterranean region,” the foreign ministry wrote Thursday on X.
“Italy is determined to remain active in the diplomatic, humanitarian, economic, and security spheres, to contribute to this season of peace,” the post continued.
“We want to give the Palestinian territories a stable and secure future that will come from the rebuilding of their infrastructure.”
