(Adnkronos) – An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 on the Richter scale struck Indonesia’s eastern Papua province today, according to the US Geological Survey. No tsunami warning was issued.
The epicenter of the quake, which struck around 2:48 PM local time, was located about 200 kilometers from Jayapura, with the hypocenter at a depth of 35 kilometers, according to the USGS.
