Peru: President Boluarte impeached by Parliament

(Adnkronos) – Peruvian President Dina Boluarte has been impeached by the Lima Parliament, which voted unanimously, with all 118 deputies voting in favor, zero against, and zero abstentions. This was announced by the president of the Peruvian Parliament, José Jerí, during a parliamentary meeting where Boluarte was not present despite being invited to attend. “The impeachment of the president has been approved,” Jerí announced. Previously, Parliament had approved by majority the initiation of impeachment proceedings against her.
