Tokyo, Oct. 10 (Jiji Press)–A senior official of the main opposition Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan on Friday pointed to an emerging chance of a change in government after the Liberal Democratic Party-Komeito ruling coalition split. “The possibility of a change in government is emerging, depending on a combination (of parties),” CDP Secretary-General Jun Azumi told reporters after Komeito announced its decision to dissolve the ruling coalition. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Democratic Party for the People leader Yuichiro Tamaki expressed his party’s willingness to cooperate with Komeito. Komeito’s decision “represents its extremely strong resolve to address the issue of politics and money,” Tamaki wrote. END [Copyright The Jiji Press, Ltd.]
