Japanese LCC Zipair Operates Narita-Taipei Charter Flight

9 Ottobre 2025

Narita, Chiba Pref., Oct. 9 (Jiji Press)–Zipair Tokyo, a low-cost carrier of the Japan Airlines group, operated its first charter flight between Narita International Airport near Tokyo and Taipei on Wednesday. “We hope to launch (regular) flights someday because demand from customers is high and seats were sold out for this flight,” Zipair Tokyo President Shingo Nishida told reporters at the Narita airport in Chiba Prefecture. The company has applied to open the Narita-Taipei route and is waiting for approval from authorities, according to Nishida. “There is a lot of passenger traffic between Japan and Taiwan, and demand for cargo is also strong,” Nishida said. “The flight time is well-suited for connecting with long-haul routes to enhance aircraft utilization.” Regarding charter flights, he said, “If we are confident that they will work well, we’ll consider implementing them for other routes as well.” END [Copyright The Jiji Press, Ltd.]
