(Adnkronos) – Italy and Lithuania’s amity is “truly profound” and wide-ranging and their peoples enjoy “a shared sensibility”, president Sergio Mattarella told Lithuanian counterpart Gitanas Nauseda on Monday during a visit to Rome.
“The friendship between Lithuania and Italy is truly profound. Our comprehensive cooperation spans all aspects of every sector,” Mattarella told Nauseda at the Quirinale Palce during talks which were also attended by deputy foreign minister Edmondo Cirielli.
“The cultural sphere is especially significant because it shows a shared sensibility between our countries and our peoples,” Mattarella stated.
Mattarella thanks Nauseda for a “splendid” concert on Sunday evening in Rome’s Capella Paolina which kicked off the year of Lithuanian culture in Italy.
