(Adnkronos) – The Moroccan Prime Minister, Aziz Akhannouch, confirmed the death of three people during the unprecedented violence that shook several cities in the country last night, on what was the fifth day of street protests demanding improvements to the health and education systems in the kingdom.
“Unfortunately, we have recorded the death of three people” following “the deplorable events of recent days,” Akhannouch declared, in his first speech since the start of the protests called by the GenZ 212 collective last Saturday.
The three people, whose identities have not been released, were killed by gendarmes “in self-defense” while attempting to “storm” a gendarmerie barracks in the south of the country, declared the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, Rachid El Khalfi.
