(Adnkronos) – Montenegro must become the “28th country” of the EU by “2028”. This was stated by the president of the Balkan country, Jakov Milatovic, on the sidelines of the Epc summit in Copenhagen. Pristina, he recalls, “started its negotiations in 2012, so 13 years have passed since then. We are a small country, we are NATO members, we are fully aligning our foreign policy with that of the EU, we are already using the euro, we are the most institutionally advanced candidate country. We have set a very clear goal: Montenegro must become an EU member as the 28th member state by 2028. The drafting of the accession treaty – he concludes – would be a signal not only for Montenegro, but for all candidate countries.”
