(Adnkronos) – A fire broke out at an oil refinery in the Russian city of Yaroslavl, about 300 kilometers northeast of Moscow. The regional governor ruled out the flames being the result of a drone attack. “No drone attack was detected today,” Governor Mikhail Yevrayev wrote on Telegram, according to whom the causes of the fire were merely ‘technical’.
No comment so far from the Ukrainian side. Local residents reported seeing flames and a large column of smoke over the refinery. The Slavneft-Yaroslavnefteorgsintez plant, with a refining capacity of 15 million tons of crude oil per year, is one of the largest in Russia.
