(Adnkronos) – Iran has announced the return to the country in the coming days of 120 citizens expelled from the United States, as part of the anti-immigration measures adopted by the Trump administration. “One hundred and twenty people are expected to be expelled and return to the country in the next two days,” Hossein Noushabadi, an official in charge of consular affairs at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, told the Tasnim agency. “US immigration services have decided to expel about 400 Iranians currently in the United States, most of whom entered illegally”.
The announcement follows a report from the New York Times, according to which a plane carrying about 100 Iranian citizens departed from Louisiana bound for Iran, with a stopover in Qatar, as part of an agreement between Washington and Tehran.
