(Adnkronos) – At least 31 people have been arrested in Moldova during opposition protests, following the defeat in Sunday’s parliamentary elections won by the pro-European ruling party Pas. This was announced by the Chisinau police, the day after the demonstrations in front of the Parliament building called by the pro-Russian opposition leader of the Patriotic Bloc, Igor Donon. The arrested individuals, it was specified, mostly come from the separatist region of Transnistria – where a thousand Russian soldiers are deployed – and are accused of vandalism, unauthorized assembly, and endangering the integrity of minors, for allowing them to attend the protests.
