(Adnkronos) – Eleven people have been arrested in Serbia, suspected of having participated in several operations in France and Germany of interreligious “hate incitement”. Among the actions undertaken were “spraying the Holocaust Museum, several synagogues, and a Jewish restaurant with green paint”, a symbolic color of Islam, and “placing pig heads – an animal considered impure – near Muslim places of worship”. This was announced by the police today.
These 11 individuals were allegedly prepared by another Serbian citizen, “currently at large” and “acting on instructions from a foreign secret service,” the Ministry of Interior added in a statement, without specifying the nationality.
Nine pig heads were discovered in early September in front of mosques in the French capital and the Parisian region. At the end of April, the Shoah Memorial, three synagogues, and a restaurant were defaced with green paint in Paris. Three Serbs have been indicted and imprisoned in France as part of this investigation.
