Seoul, Sept. 26 (Jiji Press)–South Korean President Lee Jae-myung has appointed former Ambassador to Vietnam Lee Hyuk as his first ambassador to Japan, the South Korean Foreign Ministry said Friday. Lee Hyuk, 67, is known as a Japan expert, having served as director-general for Asian and Pacific affairs at the ministry and deputy chief of mission at the South Korean Embassy in Tokyo.
