(Adnkronos) – A few days before the opening of the polls for the legislative elections, the oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc was extradited to Moldova from Greece on charges formalized some time ago. Plahotniuc, involved in what has been called the “theft of the century”, the disappearance of a billion dollars, 12 percent of Moldova’s GDP, from the country’s banks in 2014. The tycoon, has militated in the Democratic Party and was elected to Parliament. He had fled the country only in 2019, shortly before being indicted.
