(Adnkronos) – The European Council has agreed to extend for another year the sanctions regime on those responsible for the destabilization of Sudan and the obstruction of its political transition, until 10 October 2026. This is learned from an official statement. The restrictive measures list lists ten individuals and eight entities, subject to a travel ban in the EU, the freezing of assets and the prohibition of making funds or economic resources available, directly or indirectly. “In the last two years, the war in Sudan has brutally impacted the lives of millions of civilians, with responsibility falling on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and their respective affiliated militias,” the document recalls.
