Pakistan, air strikes on the border with Afghanistan, at least 23 dead

(Adnkronos) – At least 23 civilians have died following air strikes in the Peshawar region, on the border with Afghanistan. This was reported by local police and security sources, specifying that the attack razed several houses to the ground. “The planes hit four houses, which were completely destroyed,” a senior local police official told AFP, without specifying who was responsible for the raid. 

A Peshawar-based security official confirmed the death toll, stressing that there are dozens of Pakistani Taliban strongholds in the region. Authorities did not provide further details on the operation.
