EXCLUSIVE: Resona, Alsok to Promote Municipalities’ Automation Efforts

22 Settembre 2025

Tokyo, Sept. 22 (Jiji Press)–Resona Bank and security company Alsok Co. will collaborate in helping Japanese local governments automate the collection of taxes and utility fees, people familiar with the matter told Jiji Press on Monday. The Japanese companies aim to help local governments enhance work efficiency and cut costs by reducing burdens linked to over-the-counter services and the management of documents for tax and utility fee collection. Under the collaboration with Alsok, Resona Bank will introduce tax and utility fee payment machines mainly in municipalities in Osaka Prefecture, western Japan, where the bank serves as a designated financial institution. In May, Resona Bank and Alsok introduced a system that allows the city government of Neyagawa, Osaka, to automate tax and fee collection. The companies plan to further strengthen efforts to promote labor-saving and paperless operations in local governments. END [Copyright The Jiji Press, Ltd.]
