(Adnkronos) – A new poll confirms the strengthening of the far-right Afd party in Germany: for the first time in the Political Barometer of the Forschungsgruppe Wahlen for the public broadcaster Zdf, the Afd is on par with the conservatives of the Cdu/Csu, with 26%, one percentage point more for the Afd, one less for the Cdu compared to two weeks ago.
Furthermore, if the elections were held on Sunday, the Spd would remain at 15%, the Greens would drop slightly to 10%, and the Linke would rise by one point (11%). Sahra Wagenknecht’s Bsw and the Fdp are still out of the game, both below the minimum threshold needed to enter parliament, with 3%. In light of this poll, Friedrich Merz’s governing coalition, with the Csu and the Spd, could not count on a parliamentary majority. A YouGov poll recorded for the first time a few days ago the Afd overtaking the Cdu/Csu.
