(Adnkronos) – The European Commission has allocated an additional 40 million euros in humanitarian funding to help Ukrainians face the fourth winter of war. The EU executive announces this in a statement, specifying that with these funds the EU’s humanitarian partners “will provide shelter materials, repair damaged houses and centers for displaced people, and improve access to water, sanitation and heating”. Direct support for the winter “will include cash assistance, solid fuels, heating and insulation appliances, as well as emergency heating points”, with particular attention to vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, people with disabilities and displaced families living in collective sites.
