(Adnkronos) – The United States Department of War has announced that the United States will provide $14.2 million in aid to the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) to help them “dismantle weapons depots and military infrastructure of non-state groups (including Hezbollah)”. The US assistance will provide the LAF with “capabilities to conduct patrols and safely remove and dispose of unexploded ordnance and weapons depots, in support of the cessation of hostilities between Lebanon and Israel,” the Pentagon said in a statement.
