Emmanuel Macron will appoint the new Prime Minister by the end of this week, reports the Afp news agency, citing a “regular interlocutor” of the French President after the formalization of Francois Bayrou’s resignation, which Macron “acknowledged” today. The assignment of the position to the Minister of Defense, Sébastien Lecornu, continues to be anticipated. Whoever the name, it will be the fifth Prime Minister since the beginning of Macron’s second term in 2022, the third in a year.
