(Adnkronos) – “The intention is clear: to end this war as soon as possible and pave the way for diplomatic negotiations, while guaranteeing Ukraine’s long-term security.” This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky speaking at a press conference at the end of the meeting in Paris of the Coalition of the Willing, announcing that an agreement was reached today on the general framework of the security guarantee plan.
Zelensky stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin “has so far rejected all calls for peace negotiations” and that, despite this, “we think that sanctions are having an impact, contrary to what some claim.” He reiterated that “a strong Ukrainian army is the central element of security guarantees” and explained that the leaders are defining the contributions of individual countries, with “concrete steps” planned for training, production and supply of weapons, in addition to cooperation in the cyber and air defense fields.
