(Adnkronos) – Over a thousand people have lost their lives due to a landslide that swept away the village of Tarasin on the MarrahMarrah mountains in central Darfur, Sudan. This was stated by the Sudan Liberation Movement-Army in a note. “Initial information indicates the death of all the inhabitants of the village, estimated at over a thousand people. Only one person survived,” the statement read.
The village was “completely razed to the ground,” the group said, asking for help from the United Nations and international humanitarian groups to recover the bodies.
