(Adnkronos) – The Trump administration has issued a suspension of approvals for almost all types of visas for Palestinian passport holders. The New York Times reports, citing US officials. The decision, if confirmed, would represent a drastic extension of the block imposed earlier this month against Palestinians from Gaza attempting to enter the United States with tourist visas. It also follows the confirmed denial and revocation of diplomatic visas for Palestinian officials attempting to attend next month’s United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The decision would prevent many Palestinians from the West Bank and the Palestinian territories from entering the United States with various types of non-immigrant visas, temporarily limiting visas for medical treatment, university studies, visits to friends or relatives, and business trips.
