‘Gaza is not for sale’, Hamas rejects alleged Trump plan

1 Settembre 2025

(Adnkronos) – “Gaza is not for sale”. With these words, Bassem Naim, a member of Hamas’ political office, rejected the alleged plan by US President Donald Trump’s administration, which would see the United States take control of the Gaza Strip and temporarily relocate the population. The news, reported by Al Arabiya based on a Washington Post article, claims that the White House is considering the creation of a US-administered “trusteeship” for at least ten years, with the aim of transforming Gaza into “a magnet for tourism and a high-tech hub”.

Naim reiterated that “Gaza is part of the wider Palestinian homeland”, condemning the project and denouncing the American intention to “tear the territory away from its legitimate people”. Another Hamas official, who spoke to Afp anonymously, added: “We reject all these plans that abandon our people and keep the occupier on our land”, calling the proposal “worthless and unjust”. According to the Washington Post, the plan would include the relocation of Gaza’s approximately two million inhabitants, either through “voluntary” departures to other countries or through transfer to protected and fenced-off areas within the territory.
