Poland: Warsaw will send a note of protest to Moscow, ‘our security at risk’

(Adnkronos) – “We have visible proof that Polish airspace is threatened by this war: something could happen, something could explode, it is not safe, people could die and the security of a NATO allied state is at risk”. With these words, Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Pawel Wronski announced that Warsaw will send a diplomatic note of protest to Russia after the explosion of a drone, believed to be of Russian manufacture, which occurred last night in a field in eastern Poland.

Speaking to broadcaster Tvn24, Wronski explained that Warsaw will also inform its NATO allies: “We will present all other episodes of violation of Polish airspace”. He also recalled that “as has happened in the past, Russia generally does not admit that anything it produces ends up on our territory, because these drones are in fact saturated with components from all over the world”. Wroński stressed the importance of the incident in the context of discussions on ending the war: “This is not just a conflict on the periphery of Europe, but a situation that threatens not only Ukraine, but also Europe, including NATO states covered by Article 5 of the Washington Treaty”.
