(Adnkronos) – Russian General Esedulla Abachev, deputy commander of the northern military group, was seriously injured at the front in Ukraine and was transferred “to one of the best hospitals in Russia” where his condition is considered stable. Abchev, who is 57 years old, has been on the front lines since the beginning of the war, explained Sergei Melikov, the governor of Dagestan, the region from which the senior officer originates. “Despite the important command positions he held, he was always at the front,” he added. According to Ukrainian military services, Abachev had a leg and an arm amputated after being hit in a raid against a Russian military column on a Kursk highway.
