(Adnkronos) – Israel has revoked the visas of Australian representatives to the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) in response to Australia’s decision to deny entry to a far-right Israeli lawmaker. This was announced by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, as reported by Haaretz.
“The Australian ambassador to Israel has just been informed of the matter. I have also instructed the Israeli embassy in Canberra to carefully review any official visa application for entry into Israel,” Sa’ar wrote. The measure, the minister explained, “follows Australia’s decisions to recognize a ‘Palestinian state’ and its unjustified denial of visas to several Israeli representatives.”
The case indicated by Sa’ar specifically concerns MP Simcha Rothman, whose arrival in Australia was scheduled for tomorrow and who was denied a visa on charges of spreading “messages of hate and division”.
