(Adnkronos) – “The war with Israel can resume at any time”. The alarm was raised by Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, who described the current situation not as a true ceasefire, but as “a simple suspension of hostilities”. After the 12 days of conflict in June, which caused over a thousand deaths in Iran and dozens in Israel, the two sides remain in a fragile truce not formalized by any agreement.
A military advisor to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Yahya Rahim Safavi, reiterated that Iran “is preparing for the worst-case scenario” and that “we are not in a ceasefire, we are in a phase of war that can collapse at any time”. Tehran claims it is not seeking a new conflict but is ready for confrontation, while the United States and Israel have threatened further attacks should Iran relaunch its nuclear program.
