(Adnkronos) – IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir “has approved the main framework of the IDF’s operational plan in the Gaza Strip”. This was announced by the Israeli Defense Forces in a statement quoted by Israeli media. “The IDF’s actions taken to date have been illustrated, including the attack in the Zeitoun area that began yesterday,” the note explains, adding that “the central concept of the plan for the next phases in the Gaza Strip has been presented and approved, in accordance with the directives of the political summit”. The decisions – the IDF further explains – were taken during a discussion held with the General Staff Forum, as well as with representatives of the Shin Bet security service and other senior officers.
