(Adnkronos) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, expressed “deep condolences” for the “tragic” death of the conservative Colombian presidential candidate Miguel Uribe, shot in the head on June 7 during a rally and who died today after two months of intensive care and several surgical operations.
“It is a tragic day for Colombia and for those who fight for freedom and democracy throughout Latin America,” Tajani commented in a post on X, stressing that “in this tragic circumstance, Italy stands by all the Colombian people, the relatives and friends of Miguel Uribe Turbay, condemning this atrocious act of violence and expressing all its closeness to the entire nation.”
