(Adnkronos) – Al-Jazeera satellite TV confirmed in the past few hours the death of two of its reporters and three cameramen, who died yesterday – according to the complaint – during an Israeli raid in the Gaza Strip. Among the five is also Anas Al-Sharif, a well-known face to viewers, whom the Israeli military acknowledged having targeted, indicating him as a “terrorist” who “posed as a journalist”. The broadcaster reported “what appears to have been a targeted Israeli attack” against a tent used by its journalists in Gaza City, in front of al-Shifa hospital.
The TV station reported the deaths of correspondents al-Sharif, 28, and Mohammed Qreiqeh, and cameramen Ibrahim Zaher, Mohammed Noufal and Moamen Aliwa. On Telegram, the Israeli military claimed that al-Sharif “was the head of a Hamas terrorist cell and was responsible for preparing rocket attacks against Israeli civilians and troops”.
