(Adnkronos) – Italy is opposed to settlements in the occupied West Bank, as they “undermine the foundations” of a peace process leading to a two-state solution to Israel’s long-running conflict with the Palestinians, foreign minister Antonio Tajani stated on Wednesday.
“Minister @Antonio_Tajani reiterates that Italy is against any Israeli settlement in the West Bank,” Tajani wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“Because it would undermine the foundations of the ‘two peoples two states’ approach, the only solution to build a stable peace in the Middle East,” the tweet continued.
