Thailand-Cambodia, Bangkok denounces ceasefire violation

29 Luglio 2025

(Adnkronos) – Thailand has accused Cambodia of “deliberately” violating the ceasefire announced yesterday after the escalation on the border between the two countries that has left at least 33 dead and thousands displaced. The Thai military, reports the BBC, accused Cambodia of gunfire “at multiple points” until this morning. For its part, the Cambodian Ministry of Defense, reports the AFP agency, assured that “there have been no armed clashes” between the two sides since the ceasefire came into effect at local midnight.

Twice, according to the BBC, the meeting between local commanders, scheduled for this morning by the announced ceasefire agreement after yesterday’s meeting in Malaysia between the Thai interim premier and the Cambodian prime minister, has been postponed and – according to the British network – it may never materialize.
