In Scotland, alongside US President Donald Trump for the meeting at his Turnberry golf club, he described the situation in the Palestinian enclave as a “tremendous catastrophe”. “It’s a humanitarian crisis, a tremendous catastrophe – Starmer said upon his arrival – Nobody wants to see this. I think people in the UK are horrified by what they are seeing on their screens, so we have to get to that ceasefire”.
